How we help out in the world is different for each of us.
I've always been drawn to helping homeless kids. I finally found an opportunity when I joined my wife in Guatemala while she was in Peace Corps in the mid 90's.
The social services agency I helped create in Quetzaltenango - the Street School - has already helped hundreds of kids. I still lend a hand by being the U.S. liaison for volunteers and donations. It was icing on the cake to receive an e-chievement award from the e-town radio program for doing what my heart told me was right.
